REFLECTIONS

I. Mini Assignment 1(CALL)

The first assignment opens our mind to understand the essence of the subject. At first, it was hard for us to understand it and as the next few classes, we manage to identify three types of CALLs and understand the difference between each of them.



Our first thought that this subject will be tough for us to swallow yet the first mini assignment let us see it differently in different perspective. We are very interested to learn more in other task as well. We are so grateful to learn on such insightful information of CALLs.


II. Lesson Plan. (Teaching Reading in English For Intermediate Student)

Our next task gave us the benefit to understand the basic of a lesson plan. After further consultation, we manage to change our original idea of a lesson plan because it was a bit general rather than in detail. Our group became the last group to present this task so it was really hard and challenging for us as the other group has done so well.

Nevertheless, we are very grateful that the presentation went well and after all was set and done, we understand the difficulty and challenges for a teacher and a lecturer to create a lesson plan.


III. CMC


      Through analyzing the cohesiveness of text in online based communication or Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) as a medium to interpret meaning and to convey message. The findings is very essential and ideal in examining the relevance of online based communication as an alternative to replace traditional method of communication such as face to face conversation in certain circumstances.

           The research might also give huge contribution to the future research as it will be the starting point to critically examine and to analyze the usage and relevancy of online communication as it become more and more important day by day. Thus the corpus will always increase from time to time as the sources of data will be based from online based communication. It is very academic for the researcher to start doing a research focusing more on CMC alone as a dominant tool of communication since the corpus are growing much bigger which is very convincing because the sources from the corpus are reliable and varied.
  
IV. Research Mini Proposal
      

            Along the process in completing this final task, we manage to identify the use of CALL in language learning proficiency and also the one that become more popular today which is Mobile Assisted Language Learning (MALL). Our group focuses on MALL as technology today has reach its peak as it became useful similar as a computer but only different in sizes. We focus on the mobile application that helps student in language learning. At the beginning, we choose to make a research with more than 15 students but after further discussion, we only focus on one student as it is convenient for us to check on his or her improvement in language learning throughout the research period.
            Throughout the process in finalizing the research, it took most of our time to really make the research specific and convenient for future studies as we are focusing on the student with really poor language proficiency and hope that one day we can help them to be able to improve themselves similar with others.
